Berthoud schools are part of the Thompson R2-J School District. Over 12,000 students are enrolled at 25 different schools throughout the district. Four of these schools are in Berthoud: Ivy Stockwell Elementary, Berthoud Elementary, Turner Middle School, and Berthoud High School. Our schools have a basic commitment to equal opportunity and to providing the best possible education to all students. Accountability committees at each school set annual improvement goals. Parents are traditionally very involved with the schools and committed to academic achievement. Berthoud's two elementary schools place a premium on improving student reading skills, math problem-solving achievement, and the quality of student writing in grades K through 5. Berthoud schools enjoy excellent computer labs, dedicated parent volunteers, skilled teaching teams, on-staff counselors, and varied extra-curricular programs. You are welcome to visit the schools and see education in action. Also, within a short distance drive, the adult learner may attend Colorado State University in Fort Collins, University of Colorado in Boulder, University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, as well as Front Range Community College, Regis and Aims Community College.
